Nhlanhla Mdlalose says he has been in the acting game for long, but people are only recognising him now
ISIBAYA actor, Nhlanhla Mdlalose (39), says it amazed him when people only started noticing him after he joined the soapie as he has been in the industry for about nine years. The actor says the late comedian, Mandla Thabethe, famously known as Bongo on the SABC1 comedy, Family Bonds, helped him break into the entertainment industry.
MENZI NGUBANE IS LIKE FAMILY
Nhlanhla, who plays Bongani on Isibaya, says he has been acting since high school and he even rejected some offers because of his school work.
He was raised by a single mother and doesn’t know his father as he passed away when he was very young.
Nhlanhla grew up in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal, the same town where actor, Menzi Ngubane, grew up. After Nhlanhla turned down an offer to join Yizo Yizo, Menzi was the one who encouraged him to stop running away from his dream.
