Bongani Nchang says he had to learn to lean on God and trust Him to work in his life
IT took a lot for gospel singer, Bongani Nchang, to step into what God had destined for him. The fear of letting go of what he knew himself to be and living up to the expectations of people almost made him miss an opportunity that has molded him into an instrument of God through his music. He tells Move! about the power of leaning not on his own understanding, but trusting God to finish the good work He started in his life, especially in times of darkness.
WONDERS OF MERCY
The mercy of God showed up in Bongani’s life through people such as Joyous Celebration founder Lindelani Mkhize, who encouraged him to be a musical director on SABC 2’s Gospel Classics.
“At first, I was really skeptical about this, but because it came from someone like Lindelani, who knows his story, I went for it,” he says.
