Vatiswa talks about her beliefs and the challenges of portraying the character of NomaRussia.
JUST about any character Vatiswa Ndara (46) portrays is bound to leave you asking for more. The veteran actress, who currently portrays NomaRussia in the hit Mzansi Magic drama series, Igazi, is quite modest about her success as an actress. She says she is just grateful that she is still able to do what she loves for a living.
WE LOVE TO HATE HER
The Eastern Cape-born actress is well aware that she plays a character that viewers love to hate. “Viewers love to hate her, but for some weird reason they still want to see what she’ll get up to next. As much as she gets under their skin, viewers are still drawn to her,” she acknowledges.
She describes her character as a reckless, evil, attention-seeking woman with big hips and an even bigger mouth. This woman with ‘exaggerated cat eye’ make-up will stop at nothing to get what she wants.
