Singer and crew ambushed by gunmen.
AFRO-POP sensation, Nathi Mankayi, is the latest celebrity to be affected by the high levels of crime in Mzansi. The singer was ambushed soon after arriving back in the country from Gabon. The incident reportedly happened after the star and his band left South Africa’s newest crime hotspot, OR Tambo International Airport, to go home. The attack comes a couple of days after the mafia-style heist that saw R200 million disappear from the airport.
THE HIJACKING
Nathi and his band members had just came back from Gabon where they performed as part of the Department of Arts and Culture's delegation when they were attacked. A source tells Move! that Nathi and his band were robbed by a group of gunmen known as “the airport robbers”, a syndicate that follows unsuspecting people from the airport.
