Dave and I decided to come to live in Spain two years ago, having decided to do something different with our lives before we got too old,” says Sheila Lewens.

“We’ve lived here for eighteen months now and we love everything about the country. There doesn’t seem to be anything we cannot get here that we had in the UK. We have Spanish lessons twice a week as we decided to live in a predominantly Spanish area but through our estate agent we’ve also made a good circle of British friends – we’re nicknamed the Sunday market gang as we all meet for drinks at a bar after shopping at the local market!

“Most people here think Brexit will affect medical care but personally, we don’t think anything will change apart from the pound to Euro.
