Alexandra finally breaks her silence about her love-rat ex, The Great British Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, and discusses why she won’t be losing his surname anytime soon.
Alex Hollywood has had a tough few years by anyone’s standards. She’s kept a dignified silence since she ended her marriage to Paul Hollywood in 2017, after he grew close to 23-year-old barmaid Summer monteys-Fullam. But as the relationship breakdown continually hits headlines, the chef, 54, has finally decided to speak out.
It’s grieving for something that’s dead,’ she said of the demise of her marriage. ‘I was married for nearly 20 years – most of my adult life.’
This wasn’t the first time Paul, 53, had a wandering eye. Alex decided to take him back for the sake of their son, Josh, after he admitted to an affair with The American Baking Competition judge Marcela Valladolid, then 34, in 2013, which Paul called the ‘biggest mistake of his life’.
Defending her decision to forgive him, she said, ‘I think everybody’s entitled to one mistake.’
