Amanda Redman reveals she hasn’t ruled out plastic surgery and why she’s not happy to be older and wiser...

I Want a Boob Job... But My Husband Will Divorce Me!

A manda Redman has been a leading lady for over two decades with roles in At Home With The Braithwaites, Sexy Beast and the long-running cop drama New Tricks. But we’ve seen very little of her since she left the show in 2013 – until now. Woman travelled to Sri Lanka to catch up with Amanda on the set of her new series, ITV’s The Good Karma Hospital, where she plays Dr Lydia Fonseca, a surgeon who works all hours at a struggling cottage hospital in Kerala, India. When we meet, Amanda, 59, looking fresh-faced despite the searing heat, is frank and funny – the sort of person who says the things most people won’t. Amanda is married to Damien Schnabel and is mum to Emily, 29, from her first marriage to fellow actor Robert Glenister…

‘You never stop worrying about your children.

Emily is 29 now and when she’s unhappy it’s worse than me being unhappy. She started off as an actress, but she didn’t enjoy it like I do. Then she was an agent for a while, but she wasn’t happy doing that. Recently she’s found her niche in publishing and I’m so proud of her. We’re very close. I miss her so much while I’m here in Sri Lanka but we talk all the time.’

‘I’ve just got through two very difficult years, with the deaths of my mother and my friend Lynda Bellingham.

Get moving to beat that low mood

Look, I know it's November. The days are shorter (like our patience) and darker (like, sometimes, our mood) and moving our body gets pushed further down the must-do list. We hunker down and become insular.
