Holly breaks down
Holly Willoughby, 41, has been vocal about her struggles with mum guilt but recently the presenter reached breaking point, admitting, ‘I cried a lot’.
The star’s intense filming schedules meant she was away from children Harry, 12, Belle, 11, and Chester, seven, for almost three weeks. She said: ‘I was working a week in Italy [filming Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof] then flying to London on a Saturday night to film Dancing on Ice on a Sunday. I couldn’t go home because of COVID regulations, I had to stick to just two places of filming. So Saturday nights, on my own, I cried a lot. It was the longest I’ve ever gone without seeing my children.’
Holly has previously talked about her work-life balance, saying, ‘I’m feeling mega guilty – the whole working mum thing. I can’t drop my kids off at school in the morning because I’m always at work.’ She added, ‘People must think I don’t love my kids because I go to work [but] that’s mad, because I love my kids with every ounce of my being.’
To make matters worse, Holly’s husband, Dan Baldwin, 47, wasn’t able to be at home either, as he’s the producer of Freeze the Fear – though, luckily, Holly’s mum Linda was on hand to look after the children.
