The ‘most amazing’ beginning

Ant McPartlin was just 18 when he met Lisa Armstrong, then 17, at a pop concert in Newcastle in 1994, where they were both performing – she in pop band Deuce and he with best friend Declan Donnelly as PJ and Duncan.

Ant previously described the meeting as ‘the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me,’ while Lisa said his handsome looks left her feeling ‘gooey’.

It wasn’t until 11 years into their romance, in April 2005, that Ant popped the question. They tied the knot in a fairy-tale ceremony in Buckinghamshire the following year, with Dec as best man.
