When the wind blows…

Winter is when you realise how leaky your house can be, so save on heating bills by fitting draught excluders on the bottom of the front and back doors. And a simple strip of self-adhesive foam tape will help stop the wind whistling through those gaps. Even adding a keyhole cover can make all the difference.

Are you lagging?

One of the most common catastrophes in cold weather is frozen pipes, which can result in having no central heating or running water. Check that your water pipes and tanks in the loft have good quality lagging. And while you’re up there, check on your loft insulation.
