Along with her powerhouse voice, Adele’s gloriously Rubinesque figure has been one of her defining features. But when the “Hello” singer arrived at rapper Drake’s 33rd birthday party in Los Angeles on October 23, it seemed that had suddenly changed!

Looking svelte in a cinched-at-the waist velvet gown, the Grammy winner made heads swivel with her estimated 20kg weight loss. And obviously chuffed with the result of months of dedicated diet and exercise, she couldn’t help but joke later on social media, “I used to cry but now I sweat.”

It was a huge surprise for fans who had long celebrated the mum-of-one’s stance on her weight, once declaring, “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the covers of magazines. I represent the majority of women and am proud of that.”
