Bride Eugenie's Joy Fergie's Back In The Fold

With just three months before she weds the love of her life, Princess Eugenie couldn’t be happier as she immerses herself in the excitement of planning. But it’s not just the thought of her big day that’s making the 28-year-old smile – Eugenie is delighted to see her mum, the Duchess of York, finally welcomed back into the royal fold.

“It’s almost 25 years since Eugenie’s parents split and in that time, she’s watched her mother get ostracised,” says a palace insider. “It’s been incredibly difficult for both her and her sister Princess Beatrice because they’ve often felt caught between their mum, who they adore, and the royal family, who they’re devoted to as well.”

But with Eugenie’s October 12 marriage to her long-term beau Jack Brooksbank, 32, approaching fast, Woman’s Day can reveal that the Queen has had a change of heart when it comes to her former daughter-in-law, extending an olive branch with a recent invitation to tea at Windsor Castle. While she always blamed Sarah Ferguson for the scandals that saw the end of her marriage to Prince Andrew, she’s decided it’s time to move on.
