Meet your new favourite workout: high-intensity interval Pilates

A common misconception is that Pilates is slow and that you don’t burn many calories – but it turns out that’s totally false! “Pilates can definitely help you enter the ‘fat-burning’ zone, particularly when you use our HIIP [highintensity interval Pilates] workout,” say Tori Clapham and Bec Chidiac, co-owners of Peaches Pilates.

WHAT’S HIIP?

This workout style combines cardio with Pilates, which will get your heart rate up using your body weight as resistance, and limited equipment.

“With HIIP, the goal is to increase your heart rate, meaning the exercises are performed faster than usual. HIIP borrows the components of traditional Pilates, like a strong focus on correct form, precision, breathing and concentration,” Tori and Bec explain.
