Parenting Paquin - Style Anna's Juggling Act

The truth about being a star mum.

When Anna Paquin and her husband, True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, had their twin babies five years ago, they promised each other they would divide their workload and limit the time they spent apart.

“Yeah, and now I think it’s really cute when I hear other acting couples talk about doing that,” the Kiwi actress giggles. “We certainly had that as an intention and I really admire anyone who’s able to follow any kind of schedule, but it’s just not the reality of our business to say, ‘No, please, it’s your turn to work and my turn to not work!’”

Yet the 35-year-old star – who won an Oscar for her first acting role at age 11, in Dame Jane Campion’s acclaimed 1993 film The Piano – seems to have managed the balance between family and career quite nicely so far.

Last year, Anna finished the drama series Bellevue in Canada, before heading to London to shoot the movie Tell it to the Bees, then jetting to New York to play Robert De Niro’s daughter in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film The Irishman. Meanwhile, Stephen, 48, was busy with the TV drama Shots Fired in North Carolina and the new superhero series The Gifted in Georgia.
