Two Hearts Collide When Harry Met Meghan

The stars instantly aligned!

When you know, you know – and for Prince Harry, there was never any doubt that Meghan Markle was the woman he was meant to spend the rest of his life with, almost from the very moment they met.

As the former royal rebel confessed in a rare interview to mark his engagement, “The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned. This beautiful woman just tripped and fell into my life.”

After years of yearning to find “the one” and settle down, Harry first laid eyes on his future bride on a blind date set up by a mutual friend at a members-only club in London in July 2016. The prince had never heard of Meghan or seen her show Suits, while the brunette Californian beauty didn’t realise what a big deal her date was. She explains, “Because I’m from the States, you don’t grow up with the same understanding of the royal family.”

Regardless, Meghan made a good first impression, with Harry recalling, “I was beautifully surprised when I walked into that room and saw her sitting there. I was like, ‘OK, well, I’m going to have to really up my game here and make sure I’ve got good chat.’”

And his banter must haver isen to the occasion because Meghan agreed to meet the prince again the next day, when they consulted their schedules and arranged to go “on holiday together in the middle of nowhere, sharing a tent” in Botswana a month later. He recalls, “We camped out with each other under the stars. It was absolutely amazing to get to know her as quickly as I did.”
