The fourth Automotive Raw Materials Conclave, hosted by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) in New Delhi, brought together key stakeholders to shape the industry’s raw material procurement and responsible use.
The event revolved around the theme, “Exploring the Future: Innovations and Sustainability in Non-Ferrous Raw Materials.” The conclave highlighted advancements in non-ferrous materials.
Non-ferrous materials such as aluminium, copper, magnesium, and titanium are crucial for automotive manufacturing. These materials offer unparalleled advantages, including lightweight properties, corrosion resistance, and enhanced performance, while playing a crucial role in reducing the environmental footprint.
Their adoption is central to driving sustainability, improving efficiency, and fostering the growth of the automotive sector.
During her address, Shradha Suri Marwah, President of ACMA and CMD of Subros, highlighted the pivotal role of non-ferrous materials. She remarked, “Non-ferrous materials have a lower environmental impact compared to their ferrous counterparts and are highly recyclable, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint.
By embracing innovation and sustainability, we can create a resilient and future-ready industry that not only addresses the challenges of today but also charts a greener, more sustainable path forward.”
Speaking of collaboration with raw material suppliers, she deemed it essential for developing innovative technologies and processes that improve the efficiency and sustainability of non-ferrous materials.
Building strong partnerships among industry stakeholders, research organisations, and government agencies will be crucial in addressing challenges and fully harnessing the potential of these materials,” she emphasised.
