Once again, the French atelier S.T. Dupont has found inspiration from its own archive of guilloche engraving. The new S.T. Dupont Monogram 1872 collection's ridged guilloche pattern is based on a pattern from the 1950s and is a combination of smooth, ridged, horizontal, vertical, and parallel lines combined in an italic motif that speaks to pure mid-20th-century elegance.
-
It takes every skill possessed by S.T. Dupont's artisans, which is why the name harkens to the company's founding year of 1872. Monogram 1872 is a Line D Eternity extra-large, large, or medium body in gold or palladium plating. The cartridge/converter-filling fountain pen has a 14 karat gold Angel Wing nib in fine, medium, or broad; large-body rollerball and medium-body ballpoint versions are also available, including a black lacquer ballpoint with gold-plated details.
In 2025, Leuchtturm1917 invites customers to embrace gradience with the new Drehgriffel Nr. 1 Gradient Edition ballpoint series. It's the same hexagonally faceted brass body with an aluminum finish, tapered tip, and rounded twist-action mechanism at the finial. But this new Gradient Edition has just that: a unique, hand-painted, gradient finish of navy and mint green, forest green and sage, Rising Sun and lemon, or Port Red and lilac. Each Drehgriffel Nr. 1 Gradient Edition is packaged in a matching triangular box and comes with a standard international black refill that promises over 1,000 words of writing. Production of the Leuchtturm1917 Drehgriffel Nr. 1 Gradient Edition is limited in number, and the collection will release in April 2025.
