Following the news that the Duchess of Sussex won’t be attending the King’s coronation next month, royal experts now believe it’s highly likely she’ll never set foot on British soil again.
Last week Buckingham Palace confirmed that Prince Harry, 38, will travel to the UK alone for his father’s landmark moment, which is to take place at Westminster Abbey on 6 May. Wife Meghan, 41, will stay behind in California with the couple’s two children, Prince Archie, three, and Princess Lilibet, 22 months.
The news that the duchess will stay in the US rather than travel to London to see her father-in-law be crowned seems to have confirmed what royal experts already believed – that she’s keen to continue to distance herself from the royal family, and from Britain itself.
Royal author Tom Bower, who wrote Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors, told new, “I don’t think Meghan will ever come back to London. I think she knows if she came back she would be booed.”
He added, “I think that Meghan has now been made to feel unwelcome by the royal family and I don’t think she wants to come back.
