Kerry Katona’s Spanish dream is over before it’s even begun as the heartbroken star has made a dramatic U-turn on plans to relocate overseas for the sake of her family.
Kerry, 43, and her fiancé Ryan Mahoney, 35, had been travelling back and forth to Marbella in southern Spain for a while, and the pair were viewing houses with the aim of eventually moving to sunnier climes this June.
The reason for the sudden change of heart comes down to Kerry’s children – Molly, 22, Lilly-Sue, 21, Heidi, 17, Max,16, and 10-year-old DJ, who Ryan is a doting stepdad to.
Heidi has just landed a spot at a prestigious music school, so the couple have mutually decided to stay put in the north of England for the time being. “Kerry and Ryan are heartbroken they won’t be moving to Spain this year and are a bit gutted, but the kids’ future comes first,” a source has told us. “They loved the idea of it and still do, but circumstances have changed.”
The source added, “Also, DJ has really settled into her school and Kerry doesn’t want to disrupt that. She’s really happy and thriving in her education. Lilly-Sue is moving out of the family home and flying the nest. Heidi has been accepted into Robbie Williams’ musical theatre school in Liverpool so she will need Kerry and Ryan around her for support.”
