There’s no doubt about it – Maya Jama is the woman of the moment. The talented TV star has hosted hit ITV show Love Island for the past two years, presented Simon Cowell’s music game show Walk The Line, and has more than 3.2 million Instagram followers who hang on her every update.
Now, the already hugely successful 30-year-old hopes to be fulfilling her dreams and heading to America.
A source exclusively told us, “Maya is focusing on herself and her career just now – and it’s paying off. She wants to be one of the biggest global stars – a bit like J.Lo – and has Hollywood in her sights. Maya would love to present over there and even be on Broadway. She wants to do it all.
“She has loved doing Love Island – and doesn’t have any plans to leave – but she also wants to widen her horizons. She wants to go for gold and almost becomea brand herself.”
Maya, who, at the age of 23 became the youngest person ever to co-host the MOBO Awards, alongside Marvin Humes, has made her ambition no secret over the years and is always looking for new challenges.
She previously said, “I feel like I need to set new goals because I have been so fortunate that all my childhood goals have been achieved now before I am 30. Focus on your job first then plan the party after!”
A career overseas wouldn’t be out of the question for the Bristol-born star, who also hosted Love Island spin-off Love Island Games on US streaming service Peacock last year. However, breaking America would undoubtedly come with more attention and limelight, said our source – but living life in the public eye is something that Maya is more than accustomed to.
Her relationship with rapper Stormzy first brought Maya under the glare of the spotlight when they started dating in 2014.
