Coronation Street actress Charlotte Jordan says to expect plenty of drama in the lead-up to her character Daisy Midgeley's exit

'NO ONE CAN BACKSTAB QUITE LIKE OUR DAISY'

Charlotte Jordan wept for four hours during her final day on the Coronation Street set, as she filmed her “emotional” final scenes as fiery barmaid Daisy Midgeley. But Charlotte's tears caused her trouble later on when she was meant to cry filming her last ever scene with Rob Mallard, who plays Daisy's love interest Daniel Osbourne. By that point she was “dry as a bone” and unable to summon even a single tear.

After nearly five years playing Daisy, who is currently at the centre of a catfishing plot targeting her stepmother Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews), Charlotte was feeling all the emotions as the time came to bid farewell to her soap alter ego.

Viewers were left reeling at the news of Charlotte's departure earlier this year, with her exit set to play out next week. Charlotte has ambitions to play new characters — but hints that Daisy won't be killed off.

image“I'm feeling really grateful for my years on the show and the people I've got to work with,” says Charlotte. “Kate [Brooks, Corrie producer] has been so supportive about me wanting to go back out into the audition circuit, and very generous with Daisy's exit story, as she really wanted to do the character justice.

“And I can't tell you how much fun the other cast members and I had playing out this last hurrah.”
