Coronation Street is now the regular beat of Vicky Myers’ no-nonsense detective, but things are set to hot up as she arrests a fan favourite
'PEOPLE LOVE OR LOATHE DS SWAIN'

She’s been popping up on Coronation Street since 2021, and now, actress Vicky Myers reveals her character DS Lisa Swain will be back on a permanent basis, as she’s been promoted to a regular character.

DS Swain has a big case on her hands – the disappearance and suspected murder of Lauren Bolton, played by Cait Fitton.

“I was contracted to do eight episodes, so this is really quite something,” says Vicky. “My job at the time was to make sure I got to the truth of this woman as authentically as I possibly could.

“If you run away with yourself, then you lose sight of what’s right in front of you. So I was very focused on creating this powerhouse woman. And from there it progressed in such a wonderful way. But this was never expected at all.”

With Lauren having disappeared suddenly, and without a trace, DS Swain begins to investigate. When blood is found in Lauren’s flat, there is huge cause for concern.

“DS Swain is very much ‘the victim’s voice’, so she works the case from Lauren’s perspective,” says Vicky. “She wants to know what’s happened to her.”

Lauren’s best mate on the cobbles, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) tells DS Swain about Lauren’s relationship with local hero Roy Cropper (David Neilson).
