Royal fans rejoiced last week after Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank announced the birth of their second son, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank.
The 13th-in-line-to the throne was born on 30 May and is the younger brother of the couple’s first son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. He is also Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York’s third grandchild.
As with their pregnancy announcement back in January, the couple shared their happy news on Princess Eugenie’s Instagram account, before any official statement had been made by the Palace – proving once again that they are thoroughly modern royals.
The message, which was accompanied by two sweet family photographs, read, “Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs. He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. Augie is loving being a big brother already.”
The Palace and proud grandmother Sarah shared the news soon after Eugenie, while many of the couple’s celebrity friends rushed to send their congratulations, including model Cara Delevingne, TV presenter Piers Morgan, opera star Katherine Jenkins, model Emma Louise Connolly and actress Donna Air.
