AFTER FEVERED SPECULATION, SOME BIG NEWS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED
Yes, it's true!

Bridget Jones is mad about someone, but in a devastating twist it's not our beloved Mr Darcy. After months of whispers about the franchise's fourth instalment, Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, we can finally reveal the cast and Hollywood's newest It boy, Leo Woodall, is among those helping the hapless 51-year-old navigate life after the death of her husband Mark.

The new film in the franchise, which is due out on Valentine's Day in 2025, has been a long time coming.

Based on Helen Fielding's 1996 book, Bridget Jones's Diary, the first film was released in 2001 and introduced us to Renée Zellweger's Jones, a chardonnay-guzzling British singleton in her thirties who was fixated with finding a man and losing weight. She, of course, was in love with two men, Colin Firth's Darcy and Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant.

The sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, was released in 2004, and once again showed Darcy and Cleaver fighting for Jones' affections.
