Who Do You Think You Are?
Thusday, 9pm (times vary), BBC1
Oscar-nominee Lesley Manville uncovers a tale of riots, retribution and redemption as she traces her ancestry in the final episode of BBC1’s Who Do You Think You Are?
Growing up, the Mum and Sherwood star knew very little about her family tree, not even her maternal grandfather’s name.
‘All my grandparents were dead when I was born apart from my maternal grandmother. But she died when I was four and I have absolutely no memory of her,’ says Manville, 67, who can also be seen in BBC1’s World on Fire. ‘Through understanding where I come from I’m hoping to understand myself more.’
