Secret Invasion
From Wednesday 21 June, Disney+

Ever since his post-credits debut in 2008 movie Iron Man, one-eyed super-spy Nick Fury has been a fierce fan favourite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, he’s finally stepping out of the shadows and taking centre stage in a highly anticipated spin-off, which pits him against the alien Skrulls.

The six-part explosive espionage thriller follows the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avengers founder (played by Samuel L. Jackson) as he learns about the clandestine invasion of Earth by a rogue faction of shapeshifting Skrulls, the green-skinned, pointy-eared extraterrestrials with whom he formed an alliance in movie Captain Marvel (2019).

After fighting alongside the Skrulls’ leader, Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), and promising them a new home, Fury has failed to deliver and a group of Skrull extremists has emerged with a plan to infiltrate positions of power across the globe.

But the Skrulls have the ability to disguise themselves as anyone – so knowing who to trust is an impossible task for Fury and his allies, including CIA agent Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), his loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. partner Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Can they thwart the alien invasion and save humanity?
