NEW COMEDY
Apocalypse Slough: A Murder, They Hope Mystery
Thursday, 9pm, Gold
Former coach-tour operators turned private investigators Terry and Gemma are back for another feature-length comic adventure in Apocalypse Slough: A Murder, They Hope Mystery.
Gemma (Sian Gibson) has finally achieved her dream of being recruited by the Serious Crimes Agency, and she has also been invited to investigate the deaths of two property developers who were about to demolish Berrington rugby club and build houses on the land. But as Gemma moves up in the world, her marriage to Terry (Johnny Vegas) comes under strain.
‘Gemma has always been the more ambitious of the two, and Terry followed her into a career of private investigating to make her happy,’ says Gibson, 48. ‘He is supportive of her new promotion at the start, but as Gemma becomes more ruthless, Terry gets more despondent, and their relationship begins to suffer.’
