NEW SUPERHERO DRAMA
Loki
From Friday 6 October, Disney+ (released weekly)
God of mischief Loki is used to having the upper hand, but when the trickster landed his own series on Disney+ in 2021, he was the one on the back foot for once.
Season one saw Loki (Tom Hiddleston) brought before the Time Variance Authority, charged with crimes against the timeline and given a choice to answer for his misdeeds: he could either work with the TVA to fix things or be erased from existence.
After reluctantly agreeing to join them, Loki discovered that the rogue variant of himself he was assigned to pursue was a female iteration named Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), who was hell-bent on destroying the TVA.
At the end of season one, Sylvie killed He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors), the creator of the Time Variance Authority, unleashing a new multiverse in the process – and when Loki returned to the TVA, nobody recognised him…
