NEW CRIME DRAMA
Ridley
Sunday, 8pm, ITV
He’s best known as Ted Hastings, Line of Duty’s no-nonsense anti-corruption detective who brings ‘bent coppers’ to justice. Now, Adrian Dunbar is taking the title role in a new crime drama about a troubled ex-cop who runs a jazz club, where he occasionally performs.
This week, the first of four feature-length investigations sees retired Ridley team up with his former protégée, Carol Farman (The Fall’s Bronagh Waugh), when a murder case she’s working on in the north of England appears to be linked to a missing-child investigation that haunts her ex-boss.
While Line of Duty fans might be surprised to see Dunbar singing in a jazz club on screen, the 64-year-old says he has long been a musician.
