SUSAN CALMAN'S GRAND WEEK BY THE SEA
NEW MON-FRI, 8 PM, CHANNEL 5 TRAVELOGUE
Susan Calman couldn't wait to pack her bucket and spade to explore more British holiday hotspots for a second series of her popular Channel 5 travelogue Susan Calman's Grand Week by the Sea.
The new five-part run, airing from Monday to Friday this week, sees the Scottish comedian head to Skegness, the Isle of Wight, Weymouth, Tenby and Scarborough, where she will be joined by a different celebrity companion, starting with Debbie McGee.
'Each of the guests has a personal connection to the destination we visit, and I really loved hearing their stories and feeling the warmth they have for the places,' says Susan, 47, as she joins TV Times for an exclusive interview about her latest adventures.
'If I look like I'm having a ball, it's because I am! The resorts are all very different, but they each evoke that feeling of nostalgia. For example, you open up that paper package on your fish and chips and it takes you right back to those holidays when you had fish and chips on the beach.
'I really enjoyed setting up a windbreak on the beach in Skegness, because I haven't done that for years and it brought back incredible childhood memories. We used to go on holiday to Arran, an island off the coast of Scotland, and we'd set up the windbreak and no matter how cold it was, we'd get in the sea!"
Here, Susan guides us through her highlights from each episode...
