DANCING ON ICE
SUNDAY, 6.30PM, ITV1 ENTERTAINMENT
Reserve your rinkside seat as it’s time to crown the champion of Dancing on Ice 2023 in this Sunday’s grand finale of the ITV1 skating spectacular – and no one is more excited than head judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean!
‘It could be anybody’s win!’ enthuses Chris, as TV Times catches up with the ice-skating legends for an exclusive interview.
The remaining three celebrities and their professional partners must perform a showcase skate as well as their favourite dance from the series. The top two couples, as voted for by viewers, must then put their own twists on Maurice Ravel’s Boléro, just as Jayne and Chris did for their gold-medal-winning routine at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics.
Here, Jayne, 65, and Chris, 64, who sit on the Ice Panel with Ashley Banjo and Oti Mabuse, tell us why season 15 has been brrr-illiant…
How much are you looking forward to this year’s final?
JAYNE The final is always special and exciting, not least because the judges’ scores don’t count and we have no idea which way the viewers are voting!
CHRIS We’ve had some strong characters this year, so we can’t call who might be the winner!
Are you also excited about seeing the celebs perform their showcase routines?
CHRIS Yes, myself and Jayne choreograph the routines around each of the celebrities and always get excited about working with them, as it’s a bigger production with all the pro skaters involved.
