BIG BROTHER
SUNDAY, 9PM, ITV1 & ITV2, & MONDAY-FRIDAY, ITV2 REALITY
Putting a bunch of strangers in a house and recording their every move for 24 hours a day might not sound like a ratings winner, but Big Brother proved an instant hit when it burst on to our screens in 2000.
Creating tabloid heroes and villains overnight, as well as making a household name of presenter Davina McCall, C4’s ‘social experiment’ delivered triumphs, tears and tantrums aplenty, spawning a generation of reality TV fans gripped by watching everyday folk eat, sleep and argue while trying to avoid being evicted by their fellow housemates.
Little wonder then that AJ Odudu and Will Best are excited to be hosting a rebooted 20th series of the groundbreaking show, which, after a five-year break, returns on Sunday with a launch event on ITV1 and ITV2. It’ll then air nightly – apart from Saturdays – on ITV2.
Here, AJ, 35, and Will, 38, tell TV Times why it’s set to be appointment telly…
