BILL BAILEY'S
AUSTRALIAN ADVENTURE
NEW SUNDAY, 9PM, C4 TRAVELOGUE
Bill Bailey doesn't miss a beat when we ask what he thinks of Western Australia, the subject of his new C4 travelogue.
'It's wilder, weirder and even more wonderful than the rest of the country!' grins the popular comedian and Strictly Come Dancing 2020 champion, 58, when TV Times catches up with him for an exclusive chat about the series.
Over four episodes, Bill Bailey's Australian Adventure will chart his 15,000mile journey through the country's largest state, exploring both inland and coastal regions. His itinerary includes visiting the stunning Pink Lake near Esperance and UNESCO World Heritage Site the Ningaloo Coast, as well as sampling the delights of Perth's buzzing food scene and the Margaret River wine area.
'It's an epic road trip - Western Australia really cracks open your soul,' enthuses Bill, who, here, tells us more...
So, what inspired this tour of Western Australia, Bill?
I’ve been to Australia many times over the years, but I don’t know the west that well. Plus, I wanted to swim with a whale shark, but I’ve always been there at the wrong time of year [the whale shark season generally runs from mid-March to August]. Doing this series meant I could finally do what I’ve been dreaming about doing for years.
