NEW COMEDY
We Are Lady Parts
Thursday, 10pm & 10.35pm, C4 (box set, Channel 4)
London’s foremost all-female Muslim punk band is riding high after a summer of touring small venues as BAFTA-winning comedy We Are Lady Parts returns to C4 for a second season.
Resuming normal life, people-pleasing lead guitarist Amina (Killing Eve’s Anjana Vasan) decides to put her own needs first for a change, and finds romance with fellow musician Billy (Jack Riddiford), while frontwoman Saira (Sarah Kameela Impey) hopes to record Lady Parts’ first album. However, when up-and-coming band Second Wife attracts attention online with cover, the group worry that their moment in the spotlight is about to be overshadowed.
