ENDEAVOUR SUNDAY, 8PM, ITV1 DRAMA
All good things must come to an end and, after nine magnificent seasons, it’s time to bid a fond farewell to ITV1’s period crime drama Endeavour as the finalever instalment airs this Sunday.
For Shaun Evans, who plays the brooding but brilliant DS Endeavour Morse, and Roger Allam, who portrays his upstanding boss DCI Fred Thursday, working on the show since the 2012 pilot episode has been a labour of love.
TV Times met up with Shaun, 43, and Roger, 69, at ITV’s west London offices for an exclusive interview, in which the pair share their highlights from filming the Inspector Morse prequel…
THE BEST OF FRIENDS
The tight-knit but sometimes fraught relationship between Endeavour and Fred has been at the heart of the show, and Shaun and Roger have forged their own close friendship off-screen.
‘Rog is amazing,’ beams Shaun. ‘To have had the privilege of that has been extraordinary and I feel enormously grateful. We’ve become great friends.’
‘I’ve loved working with Shaun from the off,’ adds Roger. ‘I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that closeness and ease with another actor. It has been the most profound pleasure.’
