BAFTA FILM AWARDS
SUNDAY, 7PM, BBC1 AWARDS
David Tennant vividly recalls the moment he first fell in love with the silver screen.
‘My earliest cinema memories are on the Isle of Cumbrae, off the west coast of Scotland,’ says the Doctor Who star, 52. ‘We went there for summer holidays, and I remember being taken to the cinema in Millport to see [1974 fantasy adventure] The Land That Time Forgot with Doug McClure. It’s a dinosaur film, and while it wasn’t quite Jurassic Park, to my six-year-old self, it was even better!’
Fast forward to the present day, and David’s passion for movies hasn’t wavered, which is why he’s ‘thrilled’ to be welcoming cinema’s finest to London’s Royal Festival Hall this Sunday as the host of the 77th BAFTA Film Awards.
Here, David tells us why it’ll be a starry, starry night…
So, what will your hosting style be?
I have absolutely no idea! I feel quite liberated by the fact that this isn’t my day job and, therefore, I can just enjoy myself!
