OTI MABUSE’S BREAKFAST SHOW
NEW SATURDAY, 8.30AM, ITV1 LIFESTYLE
Oti Mabuse can’t hide her excitement when TV Times catches up with her for a chat about her latest TV venture.
Having twice won sequinned spectacular Strictly Come Dancing (in 2019 and 2020) as well as sitting in judgement on entertainment extravaganzas The Greatest Dancer, The Masked Dancer and Dancing on Ice, the popular professional hoofer is now branching out into the world of talk shows, having landed her own Saturday-morning series on ITV1.
Here, Oti, 32, tells us what to expect…
Congratulations on your new gig! What was your first reaction when you were asked to front your own show?
I literally screamed! I was really excited as I love these shows. And Katie Piper and Vick Hope, who were doing ITV1 weekend breakfast shows before, are good friends of mine, so to follow in their footsteps is a big honour. And Katie’s still around – she and Laura Whitmore will each be doing their own shows on Sunday mornings [Laura’s new programme starts this week at 8.30am, with Katie’s to follow at a later date].
How does your series compare to other weekend breakfast offerings?
It’s similar, but we’re also going to have a segment called Totally Oti, which is things for that week that I might be interested in. Plus, we have an incredible chef, Shivi Ramoutar, who was previously on Martin and Roman Kemp’s ITV1 series, Martin & Roman’s Weekend Best!
