THE FAMOUS FIVE
NEW SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER, 5.25 PM, CBBC DRAMA
The escapades of The Famous Five have enchanted generations of young readers since the first of Enid Blyton's beloved books about the intrepid adventurers was published in 1942. Now, a lavish adaptation on CBBC follows the plucky mystery-solvers as they try to crack their debut case.
Nature-loving tomboy George (Diaana Babnicova) is disgruntled when her London cousins Julian (Elliott Rose), Dick (Kit Rakusen) and Anne (Flora Jacoby Richardson) come to stay with her and her parents at their coastal cottage. But after a body is found on a beach, the children team up to investigate, accompanied by the victim's abandoned dog, Timmy (played by Kip, a bearded collie-cross).
When their quest takes them to an underground chapel and a potential stash of buried treasure, however, danger beckons, as villainous antiquarian Thomas Wentworth (Game of Thrones star Jack Gleeson) is also keen to locate the hoard!
TV Times caught up with rising star Diaana, 14, for an exclusive interview to find out more...
