The happy COUPLE!

It’s been a long road to the altar for Beyond Paradise’s DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton) – but in this week’s finale of BBC1’s West Country-set whodunnit, the couple are finally set to say, ‘I do!’
However, since Martha’s mother, Anne (Barbara Flynn), took over the job of organising the wedding, the ceremony has grown more elaborate – and is now a far cry from the low-key, intimate event Martha and Humphrey had in mind. As Martha starts to question whether this is really the wedding she wants, she and Humphrey have to decide whether to voice their reservations to Anne, or keep quiet to spare her feelings. And it’s not the only obstacle the pair will have to overcome before they exchange their vows!
Here, Sally, who turns 44 on 23 April, joins TV Times for an exclusive interview and, although she is sworn to secrecy over what happens, she tells us why Humphrey and Martha are meant to be together…
How is Martha feeling as the big day dawns?
Humphrey and Martha want something easy and relaxed. But with Martha being an only child, Anne has stepped in and wants her daughter to have the very best, so that’s causing a bit of tension between them.
Martha’s excited, but stressed – which I think is probably how everybody feels on their wedding day!
Why do you think Humphrey and Martha have waited so long to get married?
