THE LARKINS SUNDAY, 8PM, ITV COMEDY DRAMA
Many of us could do with a bit of feel-good escapism at the moment, so the return of ITV’s warm-hearted comedy drama The Larkins, starring Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan as sunny 1950s country couple Pop and Ma, for a second season is ‘perfick’ timing.
As we rejoin the action, with their eldest daughter, Mariette ( Joelle Rae, who has taken over the role from Sabrina Bartlett), married off to Cedric ‘Charley’ Charlton (Tok Stephen), the spotlight falls on younger sister Primrose (Lydia Page), who is about to leave school and is smitten by a dishy new arrival in the (fictional) Kentish village of Littlechurch.
However, there’s also a rare but threatening cloud on the horizon in the form of troublesome posh London couple the Jerebohms, who buy a crumbling mansion from Pop, and are soon the bane of everyone’s life.
TV Times caught up with the irrepressible Bradley, 62, to find out what adventures await in the new six-part run…
It’s now the summer of 1959. Where do we find the Larkin clan at the start of this series?
