THE world went wobbly kneed the second he stepped onto the screen. Those come-hither eyes, that chiselled chest, the charisma, the grin...
Who could blame Thelma for falling hook, line, and sinker for him even if he did turn out to be a scoundrel who stole all her money?
Brad Pitt's role in the cult classic Thelma & Louise may have been a small one but it was enough to get a toe on the ladder and he's climbed all the way to the top since then. We swooned over him in Troy, we laughed with him in Moneyball, we cried with him in Legends of the Fall, we rooted for him in Fight Club, we - were horrified for him in Seven. And now we're marvelling over Brad in a skirt.
While the rest of Europe swooned in a heatwave, the actor brought his own heat to the red carpet in Berlin, Germany, for the premiere of his new film Bullet Train.
It was all about keeping cool, he said of his brown linen midi-skirt. "I'm going to say it's all about the breeze. The breeze is very nice... very, very nice."
He'd recommend it to other dudes, he told Esquire magazine. "When you get older, you get crankier and comfort becomes more important. I think it's as simple as that.
"If I have a style, it's no style. I like simplicity. I like the details in the stitching, the way it feels. If anything, that's the only divining rod I have.
That may be - but it certainly isn't the only divine thing he has...
BRAD THE STYLE KING
He's rocked everything in his 30and-counting years of hotting up Hollywood-muscle tanks, light wash jeans, suede boots, tailored suits, you name it.
And then there was the other time he let in the breeze. In a shoot for Rolling Stone magazine in 1999, Brad donned several minis, posing in pink sequins, a grey sheath, and funky 70s print.
