GRAZIA: How did Anayah's journey begin? What inspired your transition from investment banking to jewellery design?
NILOFAR JAQUES: My journey into the business world has always been driven by a deep passion for fashion and creativity. After completing a diploma in fashion design and manufacturing, I gained the skills and knowledge to pursue my dreams, but the true spark for Anayah was ignited when I designed my own engagement ring - discovering the joy and potential in creating unique, customised jewellery.
While continuing my work in banking, I started designing jewellery for friends and colleagues. I soon noticed a gap in the market - jewellery was either too costume or fine, with little in between. I wanted to create pieces that were close to fine jewellery, but at a much more affordable price. This led to the launch of Anayah, a high-quality, stylish jewellery brand that bridges the gap between costume and fine jewellery.
G: How does leading an all-women team influence the creative process at Anayah?
