SPRING FORWARD

Lakmé Fashion Week, in collaboration with FDCI, brought its Spring/Summer 2025 edition back to Delhi, coinciding with the festive season. This year's event felt more pared down than previous editions, but a handful of standout collections offered some clear fashion highlights.

Unlike the extremely hectic schedule that is bound to give one fashion-week-fatigue, this season was kickstarted by a brilliant showcase by Aneeth Arora's Péro, as it joined hands with everyone's favourite childhood idol, Hello Kitty, to celebrate the latter's 50th anniversary alongside the label completing fifteen years in the industry. What followed was a show that banked on peak nostalgia with models taking to the runway in looks plastered with Hello Kitty all over it, but in a way where the maximalist approach didn't seem like an overkill.

Arora has a knack for designing clothes that are extremely eccentric without being on the nose and being loved by people across the board, including the ones who swear by minimalism. From fabric origami to intricately beaded garments with the usage of Indian textiles such as chanderi, mashru, jamdani and more, Péro managed to seamlessly marry the kawaii aesthetic with that of elevated fashion. Trust Arora to never disappoint.
