From a burgundy hallway to a lush green living room, embracing plush fabrics and bespoke furnishings along the way, Dulux colour forecaster and stylist Bree Leech has taken the owners of this home in Melbourne's south-east on a magic carpet ride, with exotic twists and turns.
She drew her inspiration from the aptly named Journey palette, which celebrates rich mid-tones. "Olive greens and mustard yellows are prominent, with dusty blues and burgundy accents within a mix of faded and soft textured furnishings and handmade pieces," says Dulux colour and communications manager Andrea Lucena-Orr. "The palette celebrates the art of storytelling, with mythical iconography and folk aesthetics adding extra layers." While much of its backstory lies in the Middle East and Morocco, other narratives are woven in, literally in the case of African baskets. It's primed to surprise, always in a welcome way.
