As a young couple with a newborn daughter, the owners of this striking abode very much appreciate its locale on an elevated plot in Singapore’s Namly suburb. Wide streets surround the property, lined with the spacious, serene homes of doctors and surgeons. With a modern facade, this couple’s semi-detached house towers above its neighbours, having been meticulously crafted over three years by interior design firm SuMisura, with founder Angela Lim leading the design team.
A series of consultations with other interior design firms is what ultimately led the homeowners to choose SuMisura for their abode. “Angela and her amazing team were very patient with us,” the couple share. “They understood our exacting needs and executed the work perfectly, right down to our last demanding detail.”
The team’s meticulousness is evident in the implementation of the owners’ vastly differing design preferences; while the wife wished for a predominantly soft, light palette and classic accents, the husband made it clear that he favours darker hues and a moodier ambience.
To satisfy both parties, it was decided that the common areas of the home would be clad in the wife’s preferred aesthetic, defined by hues of ivory, taupe and champagne, which lends itself to cosy gatherings, while the husband’s study and the basement bar would be transformed with a duskier, lounge-inspired design.
