It's Raining Cashmere

SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, Zegna summoned autumn before the season arrived in its Milan showcase of the autumn/winter 2024 collection. The house brought an iconic sight to the stage: a singularly illuminated mountain of falling, orange petals. However, they weren’t quite the dried ones that typically fall into heaps. Rather, in true Zegna style, they were cashmere flakes, gracefully amid the darkness of the room. The cashmere rain, if one could call it that, was so mesmerising that I almost lost focus on the models walking the collection. Even so, everything, no matter how slow, just fell into right place at the right time.
