At a young age, Elaine Hong knew she wanted to be in the fashion industry. She realised her dream but saw the negative impact fast fashion had on the world, resulting in her quitting her job to work in a sustainable startup that upcycled waste.
The experience ignited her passion as an entrepreneur, inspiring her to start her own company. In 2019, she co-founded Enya, which offers affordable and accessible personal care products for women. She says, “Menstruation is a natural process for girls and women around the world, however, period products such as pads and tampons are often not regarded as a basic necessity.”
The company has set up operations not only in Malaysia, but also Singapore and Brunei.
