An up-and-coming actor, Fabian Loo was taken by surprise when Astro Fibre first approached him to ask if he’d like to be the brand ambassador for the media conglomerate’s latest internet solution.
“I was shocked at first, but in a good way,” he explains. “I’ve been acting [for a while now] but I think it was One Cent Thief which made me more recognised. As of now I’m still pleasantly surprised by the response from people,” adds the down-to-earth actor who has been in the entertainment industry for a decade.
Loo started off his acting career doing television commercials, to help fund himself during his tertiary education. “Then thanks to the rapport I’ve built with certain casting directors, I got introduced to the world of theatre, which is where I got to really connect with my audience and learnt more about character building,” says the psychology major who is always intrigued by why people behave (or act) the way they do—and partly the reason he has a passion for and got into acting in the first place.
