Eagles urged to aim high in 'crazy season'

CRYSTAL PALACE can challenge for the top half this season despite last weekend's 5-1 embarrassment against Arsenal.

That is the view of former Eagles winger Andros Townsend, who predicts the festive period could transform the club's fortunes.

After today's trip Bournemouth, 16th-place Palace host Southampton on Sunday and Chelsea on January 4.

Townsend said: "The good thing about this season is the table is so tight. Palace are probably four or five points off being in that cluster of teams that could finish in the top half or upper bottom half.
