Sex discrimination win for young mum accused of 'skiving' to look after her children

A TRAINEE accountant whose female boss accused her of "skiving" to look after her children has won a sex discrimination case.

Holly Grant was just one week into her apprenticeship when supervisor Katie Thompson said it would be difficult for her to succeed as a mother to youngsters Rosemary and Juniper, a tribunal heard.

Ms Thompson also told her she was "skiving" by working from home on Fridays and said: 'You may as well not bother working at all."" Single and childless Ms Thompson told the tribunal she believed being a parent was a "barrier to success" at work as it would be for anyone with a "time-intensive hobby" like rowing.
